Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions our customer's ask.

1. 

What hours are you available to contact by telephone?
We take calls between 8 am - 7 pm. If you should need to contact us outside those hours, then please feel free to e-mail us or fill out our 'Contact Form' on our Contact page & we will get back to you as soon as possible.

2. 

I've left a message via voicemail, e-mail, or on your website's 'Contact Form.'
How long before you get back to me?
We aim to get back to you within 24 hrs.

3. 

What time do you arrive on site?
We usually like to get started at 8am. But if you have an earlier or later preference then just let us know & we will happily accommodate.

4. 

Do you provide a 'pick up materials' service? If so, do you charge extra?
We can happily pick up materials for most jobs before arriving on site.
This is free of charge.

5. 

Do you only do Joinery work?
No, we do lots of stuff! We carry out most building works, water plumbing, plastering etc. Just ask us!

6. 

You've fitted a wooden exterior door to my home. How do I get the most out of it?
We always advise you treat it asap with a good quality stain, oil or paint to protect it from the British weather! Be sure to treat it annually.

7. 

Do you take away excess materials for disposal?
We used to provide this service however, the local Council have changed legislation & we regret that we can no longer provide this service.

8. 

I want to order my doors or kitchen from 'Howdens,' where can I find their brochure you recommended?

I want to order my staircase from 'Richard Burbidge,' where can I find their brochure you recommended?

When do I make payment for the work carried out?
We expect payment in full at the end of the job unless it's a 'long term' job lasting over a week, which would require payment at the end of each work week.

How do I go about making payment?
You can pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer. See details below;

Do you offer any discounts?
In the majority of cases yes. We like to pass on our 'trade' discount on materials to you, the customer. What can we say, we love our customer's!

13. 

What's the difference between a 'Day Rate' & a 'Fixed Price?'
Most small jobs are usually an agreed 'fixed price.' However, on longer jobs where unforeseen work may arise, we normally work on a 'Day Rate.'

14. 

How many hours per day do you work when on a 'Day Rate?'
We work a solid 8am - 4pm and we make it value for money! 
No lengthy tea breaks for us! We drink on the go!

15. 

Do you provide an Invoice for works carried out?
Yes, but only upon request.
